OFFICIAL RULES & EVALUATION CRITERIA
01

Team Composition & Multi-Disciplinary Rule

  • Exact Team Size: Every team must consist of exactly 4 student members (1 Team Leader + 3 Members).
  • Multi-Departmental Requirement: Each team must represent at least two different academic departments. Single-department teams will not be eligible.
  • Eligible Cohorts: Open to undergraduate students from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd academic years across all engineering and design streams.
  • Single-Team Policy: A student can only be a member of one active team per edition. Dual registrations are automatically blocked.
02

Faculty Mentors

  • Mentor Nominations: Teams may add up to two faculty mentors to advise and support the team.
  • Cross-Department Mentors: Mentors can be from any academic department; inter-departmental guidance is highly encouraged.
  • Automated Provisioning: Mentors receive automated login credentials to view team rosters, inspect pitch decks, and provide structured milestone feedback.
03

Problem Statement & Team ID

  • Challenge Selection: The team leader selects one published Problem Statement ID (PSID) from the official catalog.
  • Unique Team ID: A structured, unique Team ID is generated automatically using the edition and PSID code (e.g. I2701001).
  • Abstract: A concise project abstract (200–500 words) defining the problem, proposed solution, and expected outcome must be provided.
04

Stages, Seed Grant & Demo Day

  • Round 1 (Screening): Submission of Project Abstract, Technical Pitch Deck, and Business Pitch (BMC).
  • Round 2 (Presentation): Technical and Business pitch presentation before an evaluation jury.
  • ₹10,000 Seed Fund: Shortlisted teams advancing to the prototyping stage receive an initial ₹10,000 seed grant for component/development costs.
  • Hackathon & Demo Day: Two-day innovation hackathon followed by full working prototype demonstration (TRL 4).
05

Submissions & Intellectual Property

  • Version-Controlled Uploads: Multiple file revisions can be uploaded prior to deadlines. All versions are timestamped and preserved.
  • Strict Deadlines: Upload controls close automatically at the announced IST deadlines.
  • IP Ownership: Intellectual property rights remain with the student innovators. Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
